Here is a photo taken of me (on the right) at the AOL after-party (about 12-15 hours after the day began). Laura Savini was a guest (from WLIW / Public Channel 21), and obviously we were having a lot of fun.
It was one of the best events NY-WICI has ever put on, and I am proud to have been a part of it! (The white flower was my “badge” - it told the 1500 people there that I was one of the team that put on the show. Of course, NO one was running Rosie O’Donnell, but that’s another story).
Even the celebs (Barbara Walters, Arianna Huffington, Thelma Golden, Anna Deavere Smith, Meredith Vieira, Joy Behar, Lisa Caputo, Hillary Clinton, Joan didion, Nora Ephron, Susan Lyne, Martha Stewart, Pamela Fiori, Danny Meyer, Rupert Murdoch, Cindy Adams, Sade Baderinwa [ABC-TV / NYC], Gail-of-Oprah-fame, Judge Judy, and Lord-knows-who-all) were obviously having a ball. ALL of the winner & presenter speeches were delightful and moving, and I wouldn’t have missed a minute of it for the world.
The scholarship winners were fabulous, too! (And that’s really the point!)
So I’m passing a bit of the fun on to you.

This is cool. This is fantastic. I love the red tomato log/image, but green tomatoes are exciting too and better when they are gourmet! And Nancy, you are really cooking!
